An important factor to consider when choosing daycare is the type of learning style and overall philosophy of the day care.
Our philosophy and learning style can be viewed below.

Mission Statement

It is my goal to provide a family setting for children that gives warmth and acceptance to each individual child and their families. I believe that all children have a right to a safe and healthy environment and should be given the opportunities for developmental activities according to their age, talents and interests.

Program Guidelines
My program is a guideline that I use for each day.  We are flexiable to meet the changing needs of the children, so we include free time.  Free time allows the children to pick their activities using decision making skills and encourages fun. Play is important for the children, as it helps them learn about themselves and their surroundings.

Preschool Program

*Movement - We start each day with dancing or exercises to get moving.

*Circle Time - Includes calendar time(month, year, days of the week and date), weather watchers, pledge of allegiance, shapes, numbers and colors. Certain letters are introduced, we have many poems that cover each letter.

*Theme - We have a weekly theme such as winter, holidays, animals, jobs and more.  We talk about the theme, read, sing and act out ideas(dramatic play).

*Snack

*Enhancement Activities, which can include art, cooking, manipulative's, science, reading, crafts, work sheets and math.

*Outdoor play when weather allows.

*Clean up time.

 Learning Style
We approach each day as an opportunity to learn and have fun.  I am flexible to expand a topic if the children are very interested but am sensitive to change to another topic if the children are losing interest.

We use a lot of singing, poems and rhyming.  These areas readily promote reading and are a fun way to learn.

Throughout the day children work together.  We include all infants, when their schedules permit.  Babies love the socialization and the interplay with the other children. Toddlers join in but often move on to play with toys, while we continue with our group project. We feel your child will benefit from both the structured and non-structured learning. All children have the opportunity to have quiet time, when needed.  They can join our group projects or curl up with a good book.
